LarrysPiNode

Pocket Nodo ArtNet sACN to DMX / RDM

This small and portable ArtNet / sACN node allows to transmit DMX / RDM quickly and without cables. It consists of a 1000 mah battery, which is charged by a micro-USB, and allows 10h of autonomy with no cable. This device can be charged and operate at same time.

With the DMX IN we can test the DMX line and verify that the correct line reaches our device.

The configuration of this node is done by the web, just have to connect to the Wi-Fi network that is generated by itself called “LarrysPiNode_XXXXX” and enter the password (LarrysPiNode) which will allow us to access to the web (2.0.0.1)

To use it, all you need is a software (PC, MAC, Linux, Android, or iOS) or a lighting board capable to connect to a Wi-Fi network and to accept the ArtNet or sACN protocols.

For this there are two ways of working: in Hotspot mode or in Wifi SSID mode. The configuration of these two modes is in the WIFI tab.

HOTSPOT MODE

This mode allows us to connect directly to the LarrysPiNode without the need of additional modems or routers.

To work on this mode, Stand Alone must be activated.

The automatically generated Wi-Fi network, as the node password, can be changed any time.

WIFI SSID MODE

This other mode allows us to connect to an existing Wi-Fi network. We only have to write the name of the existing network in the “Wifi SSID” box and the password in “Password”.

To do so, “Stand Alone” mode must be deactivated.

To modify the protocol which we are going to work with, click on the PORT A tab and choose the ArtNet or sACN mode, or DMX, DMX/RDM or DMX IN mode.

PORT TYPE

In this tab we can choose between three options:

DMX Output. Normal de DMX

DMX Output with RDM. To control devices with RDM protocol. (It’s not recommended to use this mode with devices that do not allow this protocol).

DMX Input. To teste DMX lines.

To connect with 3D viewers.

PROTOCOL

In this tab we have the option to choose between:

Artnet V4 or Artnet v4 with sACN DMX

MERGE MODE

In this tab we can choose which signal mixing mode we want to work with, if there is more than one "console" connected to our LarrysPiNode.

In LTP Mode (Lates Take Preference) the last value will take preference and in HTP Mode (Highest Take Preference) will be the highest value to take it.

IP & NAME

This tab allows us to change the name of our Wifi (Short Name) and our (Long Name) meaning, our long node’s name.

ENABLE DHCP

When we work in Wifi mode we can activate the DHCP mode, which allows the router to assign an automatic IP.

In Hotspot mode we can modify the IP Address that we want to work with.

(2.0.0.1) the Subnet Address (255.0.0.0) and the Gateway Address (2.0.0.1)

Each modification we make must be saved by pressing "Save Changes" which will turn green. When it returns to gray color, it will mean the information has been saved correctly.

After saving the information, it’s necessary to restart the node with the "REBOOT" or by turning Off and On with the switch button.

To restore the factory settings, it’s needed to turn the switch button Off and On 5 times in a row.

When factory reset, the Stand Alone mode will be disabled.
